I've always had a fascination for areas of flat colour and two dimensional forms. Possibly this is because they give the mind something to interpret and play with, and so they maintain its attention and interest.

The clouds mirror the stones in a way that further emphasises their two dimensional abstract form. This also helps to unify the picture.
